I also do most of my GIT stuff in the CLI. As I say in the article:

What is more, I firmly believe that working inside a terminal window often makes you more productive and permits you to really understand what’s going on under the hood.

However, I do turn to GUI tools to visualize stuff and get a picture of what’s going on from time to time.
